Amniotic membranes are derived from human amniotic membrane recovered following a live birth from volunteer donors. Amnion tissue is known to be an immune-privileged tissue containing growth factors and cytokines that impact tissue repair and regeneration. AmnioWorks™ is available in multiple sizes designed to closely optimize membrane defects.
Amniotic grafts are sterilized using low-dose, low-temperature gamma irradiation to achieve a sterility assurance level (SAL) of 10-6. The grafts should be stored in ambient temperatures (59-86° F or 15-30° C) and have a shelf-life of 5 years from the date of packaging. Amnion-patch may be rehydrated according to the clinician’s preference, and may be used as a membrane for applications in accordance with the physician’s well-informed medical judgment.
